Located a short drive from St. Moritz in the hills above Lake Maggiore is Giardino Mountain, a luxury design hotel with gastronomic pedigree crowned in Michelin stars. The Alpine facade juxtaposes a far-more modern interior with pitched-lobby with fireplace brimming in the center of a stylish lounge of oversize sofas and club chairs. Home to three eateries and two bars, the focal point of the hotel is its Michelin-starred eatery nestled within a serine space of gold-leaf walls and hand-blown crystal chandeliers.
The Food
Open only in winter, although the hotel’s sister property on Lake Maggiore is home to the original Ecco Restaurant that’s open in summer, a prix-fixe menu comes in three, four or five courses beginning with marinated goose liver with pistachio and beetroot, parsley soup with North Sea lobster followed by main courses of Atlantic sea bass with cauliflower and Bresse pigeon with crispy sweet corn.
